Endodontics

When tooth decay has become large enough to reach the nerve in the center of the tooth, the tooth will begin to ache. A root canal is intended to extend the life of the infected tooth by removing the infected nerve. The nerve chamber and canal(s) is disinfected and then filled to prevent further infection. A tooth that has been root canal treated will require a crown to maintain the stability and integrity of the tooth, and restore the tooth back to natural function.
